RN7SL635P is a pseudogene homologous to the functional 7SL RNA gene[1]. The 7SL RNA is a highly conserved RNA molecule that forms the RNA core of the signal recognition particle (SRP), a ribonucleoprotein complex required for cotranslational targeting of proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[6][7]. The majority of human 7SL-like sequences are pseudogenes generated by retrotransposition: truncated, non-functional copies of the 7SL RNA are dispersed throughout the genome and do not produce functional RNA or protein products[3][4][5]. RN7SL635P does not have any recognized biological function or disease association and is not considered a therapeutic target or biomarker[1][4][5]. Functional 7SL RNA is essential for the SRP pathway: it binds SRP proteins, interacts with ribosomes, and participates in protein translocation processes[6][7]. However, pseudogenes like RN7SL635P arise through reverse transcription events and lack evidence of expression or function[3][4][5]. Only a few canonical 7SL genes encode the active RNA components of SRP; the rest, including RN7SL635P, reside among the numerous inactive pseudogenes[4][5]. In summary, RN7SL635P is not a druggable or functional receptor, enzyme, or therapeutic target; it is a genomically embedded, non-expressed pseudogene with no direct biological or medical significance[1][4][5].
