Overview

RN7SL653P (RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 653, pseudogene) is part of a large group of 7SL RNA pseudogenes dispersed throughout the human genome. The canonical 7SL RNA is an essential component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), involved in directing proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum during translation. In contrast, RN7SL653P is a truncated, non-coding RNA pseudogene copy derived from the 7SL RNA sequence, thought to result from the reverse transcription and genomic insertion of 7SL RNA fragments. Most 7SL pseudogenes, including RN7SL653P, lack evidence of transcription, functional protein-coding capacity, or direct physiological or pharmacological relevance. They do not encode proteins and are not known to interact with drugs, act as disease biomarkers, or participate in classical signal transduction or enzymatic pathways. In summary, RN7SL653P is a non-functional genomic element and does not constitute a canonical molecular target for therapeutic intervention.
