RN7SL680P (RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 680, pseudogene) is a truncated, non-functional pseudogene related to the **7SL RNA**, an essential component of the **signal recognition particle (SRP)** that mediates co-translational translocation of proteins into the endoplasmic reticulum.[1][6] Unlike the active 7SL RNA genes (such as RN7SL1), RN7SL680P does **not produce a functional RNA** and is considered biologically inactive. Human DNA contains many 7SL RNA-like pseudogenes, which arise by reverse transcription and integration; these show diversity in structure but lack expression and function. Only authentic 7SL RNA genes encode the functional SRP RNA required for essential cellular processes. RN7SL680P itself neither plays a role in biology nor serves as a therapeutic or clinical target.[1][5][6] RN7SL680P is a pseudogene, not a receptor/molecule with biological activity. It should not be considered a valid therapeutic target, and no drugs, biomarkers, or functional/disease associations are relevant for it. If you intended a 7SL RNA or SRP RNA active gene as the target, you should choose "RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 1" (RN7SL1), which encodes the canonical, functional SRP RNA.[3][4]
