RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 706, pseudogene (RN7SL706P) is a noncoding RNA pseudogene in the human genome derived from a reverse-transcribed fragment of the 7SL RNA, which is essential for the function of the signal recognition particle (SRP)[1][4][6]. Unlike functional 7SL RNA genes, RN7SL706P is not expressed as a functional RNA and has no known role in protein translocation, cellular signaling, or disease processes. Hundreds of related 7SL RNA pseudogenes exist in the human genome but the vast majority are considered inactive, truncated copies with high sequence diversity and no detectable biological activity[4][6]. RN7SL706P is not considered a druggable target, receptor, enzyme, or marker of disease and does not participate in canonical signaling, cellular machinery, or therapeutic pathways. It is primarily of interest for genetic mapping and as a representative of pseudogene formation phenomena in human DNA[4][6].
