RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 709, pseudogene (RN7SL709P) is a non-functional genetic element classified as a *pseudogene*. It is a truncated sequence homologous to the 7SL RNA gene, which is an essential noncoding RNA forming the backbone of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex. While functional 7SL RNA participates in protein synthesis and intracellular trafficking by arresting translation and mediating protein translocation to membranes[1][5], pseudogenes such as RN7SL709P do not generate a functional RNA product and thus have no known biological or disease roles. Pseudogenes can occasionally produce transcripts but are generally considered genetic "dead-ends" without therapeutic or biomarker potential[4][3]. RN7SL709P is a *pseudogene*, not a functional molecule, receptor, or enzyme. It is not considered a therapeutic target. Its inclusion as a "target" is incorrect, unless the intent is to study its genomic context or its rare regulatory effects as a pseudogene. Normally, only functional genes or proteins (receptors, enzymes, transporters, etc.) are designated as therapeutic targets or relevant biomarkers[4][3].
