RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 745, pseudogene (RN7SL745P) is a human pseudogene that belongs to the class of 7SL RNA-derived sequences[1][8]. The 7SL RNA is a component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), which is involved in directing the movement of proteins within cells[7]. However, RN7SL745P as a pseudogene is a nonfunctional segment of DNA that resembles the functional RN7SL gene but does not produce a functional product[6][8][1][3]. Pseudogenes such as this are often the result of retrotransposition or gene duplication followed by mutational decay[6][3][5]. RN7SL745P is not considered a therapeutic target, does not encode a receptor, enzyme, or other typical drug target class, and has no known biological function, clinical role, or relevance to pharmacology or therapeutics[1][8][6]. Its primary significance is as a genomic remnant of the 7SL RNA family[3][5][9].
