RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 763, pseudogene (RN7SL763P) is a genomic sequence classified as a pseudogene, derived from the 7SL RNA sequence that encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP). Pseudogenes such as this are truncated, nonfunctional copies likely generated by reverse transcription and integration into the genome. They do not produce functional RNA nor participate in SRP functions such as co-translational targeting of secretory proteins[3][5][6][7]. While the canonical 7SL RNA is crucial for cellular protein trafficking, these pseudogenes have no direct functional, biomedical, or therapeutic relevance. There is no evidence of RN7SL763P being a disease gene, therapeutic target, or clinical biomarker[1][3][5][6][7].
