RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 774, pseudogene (RN7SL774P) is a truncated, nonfunctional copy of the 7SL RNA gene found within the human genome. Like other 7SL RNA-derived pseudogenes, RN7SL774P is a byproduct of gene duplication and reverse transcription events, but it lacks regulatory or coding functions and is not expressed as a functional RNA in cells. The authentic 7SL RNA gene plays a role in the signal recognition particle complex, essential for directing proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum, but RN7SL774P and related pseudogenes do not contribute to SRP function or cellular processes. There is no evidence for involvement in disease, therapeutic targeting, or interaction with drugs.
