Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 783, pseudogene (RN7SL783P) is a processed pseudogene corresponding to 7SL RNA, the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), but it does not encode any functional protein or receptor and is not considered a therapeutic target. In the human genome, hundreds of 7SL pseudogenes exist; most are nonfunctional genomic relics generated by reverse transcription and integration of 7SL RNA into DNA. While the parental 7SL RNA is central in protein targeting to the endoplasmic reticulum and has various regulatory roles, these pseudogenes—including RN7SL783P—are generally transcriptionally silent or produce nonfunctional transcripts with no known direct role in disease or cellular physiology. Pseudogene-derived RNAs can sometimes have regulatory effects through competing endogenous RNA mechanisms, but there is no specific evidence that RN7SL783P itself is functional. It is not a protein, enzyme, transporter, receptor, nor a known drug target or biomarker[3][6]. Key clarification: - This entity is not a therapeutic molecular target and does not fit into standard molecular classes like receptor, enzyme, transporter, etc. - Its annotation is correct as a pseudogene, but it is likely not of biological or clinical significance itself, and it is not a canonical drug target or biomarker. - There might be confusion with the functional 7SL RNA or with other similar pseudogenes; however, RN7SL783P itself is a noncoding, nonfunctional entity in current scientific understanding[3][6].
