RN7SL826P (RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 826, pseudogene) is a human pseudogene—a non-functional genomic locus derived from the *7SL RNA* gene, which is the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP)[1][5]. SRP is essential for the targeting and translocation of nascent proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotic cells[4]. However, RN7SL826P itself is classed as a pseudogene: it does not encode a functional RNA or protein product and is not known to participate in cellular processes or have a disease association[1][5]. Most of the hundreds of *7SL RNA*-like sequences in the human genome are inactive pseudogenes generated by reverse flow of information from 7SL RNA to DNA—these generally lack detectable transcription and biological function[5]. As a consequence, RN7SL826P is neither a therapeutically relevant target nor a functional component in signaling, enzymatic, or regulatory pathways. Note: - RN7SL826P should NOT be confused with the functional *7SL RNA* (component of signal recognition particle), which is active in protein targeting and translocation[3][4]. - There is no evidence that this pseudogene is related to disease, used as a biomarker, or modulated by drugs[1][5].
