Overview

RN7SL841P is a nonfunctional pseudogene locus in humans, derived from the 7SL RNA gene, which in its active form encodes a noncoding RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP). The functional SRP RNA (7SL RNA) is essential for co-translational targeting of secretory and membrane proteins by interacting with ribosomes and signal peptides[3][5]. However, RN7SL841P itself does not encode a functional RNA and has no described protein product, regulatory role, or clinical relevance. Pseudogene RNAs can sometimes influence gene expression regulation in cancer or other diseases via ceRNA or microRNA sponge activity, but RN7SL841P does not have a characterized function in these processes[1][4].
