Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 854, pseudogene (RN7SL854P) is a non-coding pseudogene found in the human genome. It is a truncated, non-functional copy of the functional 7SL RNA gene, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP). The 7SL RNA molecule itself plays a central architectural and enzymatic role in SRP assembly, regulating global SRP function and mediating protein translocation in the endoplasmic reticulum. However, RN7SL854P only represents a remnant derived by reverse transcription and insertion into the genome; it does not participate in SRP processes or have known biological functions. While some pseudogenes can regulate gene expression or act through RNA interference pathways, there is no evidence that RN7SL854P itself is biologically active or clinically relevant.

Mechanism of action

None. RN7SL854P is not a functional target for drug mechanism.

03

Biological functions

None established for RN7SL854P specifically.Functional 7SL RNA is an architectural and regulatory element of the signal recognition particle (SRP), but RN7SL854P is a truncated, non-functional copy. Some pseudogenes may have regulatory functions through RNA interference or miRNA decoy effects, but no such role is reported for RN7SL854P.
04

Disease associations

None established. There is no evidence RN7SL854P is implicated in specific diseases. Some pseudogenes have regulatory or biomarker roles in disease, but such functionality is not described for RN7SL854P.
