Unlike functional genes, pseudogenes like RN7SL869P are nonfunctional DNA sequences that resemble their parent genes but have lost their protein-coding and/or functional RNA capacity due to mutational disablement[4][5]. Most 7SL-like sequences in the human genome are pseudogenes generated by retrotransposition or related mechanisms, and they do not produce active RNA or protein[5][7]. RN7SL869P is not considered a true biological target (it does not act as an enzyme, receptor, transporter, or similar therapeutic target)[6][4], does not have known biological functions, and has no established roles in disease, biomarker use, drug interactions, or therapeutic safety concerns.
