Overview

RNA, Ro-associated Y1 pseudogene 11 (RNY1P11) is a human pseudogene derived from the RNY1 gene, part of the Ro-associated Y RNA family. Y RNAs are small noncoding RNAs involved in ribonucleoprotein complexes (Ro RNPs) and were originally identified by their association with autoantigen proteins implicated in autoimmune diseases such as lupus and Sjogren’s syndrome[2]. Unlike its parental gene, RNY1P11 is a pseudogene; it does not encode a functional RNA or protein product but may have regulatory functions at the RNA level, analogous to other pseudogenes that impact gene networks, miRNA availability, or cell signaling pathways. There is no direct evidence supporting therapeutic targeting, specific disease association, or use as a biomarker for RNY1P11[1][4][5].

Mechanism of action

none. No drugs target RNY1P11 specifically.

03

Biological functions

May participate in post-transcriptional regulation through miRNA sponging or RBPs competition (general pseudogene function)Potential involvement in gene expression modulation and RNA network regulation, as observed in other pseudogenesOther (specific functions for RNY1P11 not reported; pseudogenes often have context-dependent RNA-level regulatory roles)
04

Disease associations

Other. While some pseudogenes are associated with cancer and autoimmune diseases (by acting as miRNA decoys, etc.), there is no specific evidence of RNY1P11 involvement[4][5].
