RNA, Ro-associated Y3 pseudogene 10 (RNY3P10)

Target
RNY3P10
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Non-coding RNA, Y RNA family
01

Overview

RNY3P10 is a pseudogene belonging to the Y RNA family, which is a group of small non-coding RNAs structurally related to the canonical RNY3 RNA. The Y RNA family comprises stem-loop structured RNAs found predominantly in ribonucleoprotein complexes with the Ro60 protein. Canonical Y RNAs like RNY3 play roles in RNA quality control, DNA replication, and immune modulation; however, pseudogenes such as RNY3P10 are generally regarded as nonfunctional but may exert subtle regulatory effects through RNA-level mechanisms such as competition for RNA-binding proteins or acting as competing endogenous RNAs. There is no evidence that RNY3P10 has a direct function, disease role, or relevance as a therapeutic target. The current scientific literature focuses on functional Y RNAs rather than their pseudogenes[6][2]. If targeting or biomarker use for this specific pseudogene is required, more evidence would be needed, as current data suggests no validated therapeutic or biomarker relevance.

Biological functions

Other (Potentially regulatory RNA functions typical of pseudogenes; may act as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), antisense RNAs, or modulators of RNA-binding proteins, but this is inferred from general pseudogene biology and not demonstrated for RNY3P10)
03

Disease associations

Other (No direct disease association for RNY3P10 itself. Canonical Y3 RNA is associated with immune response and cell proliferation, but this is not validated for the pseudogene)
