RNA, Ro-associated Y4 pseudogene 16 (RNY4P16)

Target
RNY4P16
Molecular classification
Other (pseudogene), Non-coding RNA
01

Overview

RNY4 pseudogene 16 (RNY4P16) is a pseudogenic copy of the RNY4 gene, annotated as a non-coding RNA on chromosome 1[4]. Unlike the parent RNY4 gene, which is a member of the Y RNA family implicated in DNA replication, RNA stability, and potential biomarker roles in cancer, the pseudogene RNY4P16 is not believed to encode a functional RNA nor is it implicated in any known biological processes or disease phenotypes[4]. There is currently no evidence that RNY4P16 is a receptor, enzyme, or therapeutic target, nor that it directly influences cellular function or disease.
