RNU1-117P encodes an RNA sequence annotated as a pseudogene related to the U1 small nuclear RNA family. U1 small nuclear RNA normally plays a critical role in mRNA splicing as part of the spliceosome complex. However, as a pseudogene, RNU1-117P is considered non-functional and does not produce an active RNA or protein involved in splicing or other known biological processes. It is not regarded as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or any other classical druggable target. This entry should not be confused with functional U1 small nuclear RNA genes (such as RNU1-1), which do have well-characterized roles in RNA processing and some emerging links to disease. The pseudogene status means RNU1-117P has no validated therapeutic or biomarker relevance.
