01

Overview

RNA, U1 small nuclear 139, pseudogene (RNU1-139P) is a genomic pseudogene annotated as part of the U1 small nuclear RNA family. U1 snRNAs are essential for 5'-splice site recognition during pre-mRNA splicing and are core constituents of the major spliceosome complex, but RNU1-139P itself does not encode a functional RNA and has no evidence of biological function, disease association, or role as a therapeutic target. Pseudogenes such as RNU1-139P are generally considered non-functional genomic elements, with rare exceptions in other snRNA families where pseudogene-derived transcripts have been shown to participate in gene regulation or disease.

Other names

02

Mechanism of action

Null (No mechanism of action relevant for RNU1-139P.)

03

Biological functions

Null (No assigned biological function; pseudogenes are generally non-functional.)U1 snRNA canonical genes are involved in splice site recognition and pre-mRNA splicing, but there is no functional annotation for this pseudogene.
04

Disease associations

Null (No known disease role; as a pseudogene, not implicated in disease nor as a biomarker.)By analogy: Rare cases exist in other snRNA pseudogenes (like RNU2-2P) where atypical function and disease association have been described; however, no evidence exists for RNU1-139P specifically.
05

Safety considerations

Null (No known safety implications or therapeutic concerns.)
06

Interacting drugs

Null (No drugs are known to interact with this pseudogene; functional molecules such as U1 snRNA themselves have experimental modulation, but not for RNU1-139P.)
07

Biomarkers

Null (No evidence it's used as a biomarker.)
