RNA, U1 small nuclear 20, pseudogene (RNU1-20P) is a pseudogene member of the U1 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family. U1 snRNAs are integral to the spliceosome complex and play a core role in the recognition of 5' splice sites and initiation of pre-mRNA splicing[1][2]. However, as a pseudogene, RNU1-20P does not encode a functional product and is likely not involved in canonical spliceosomal activity. While some U1 snRNA pseudogenes can be transcribed and have been shown to participate in regulatory roles in pre-mRNA processing or gene regulation, there is currently no specific evidence that RNU1-20P itself produces a functional RNA or protein, nor is it described as participating in human disease, serving as a biomarker, or being targeted by drugs[2][4]. It is not considered a therapeutic target, enzyme, receptor, or similar actionable entity.
