It is derived from the U2 small nuclear RNA (snRNA), which is a critical component of the spliceosome complex necessary for pre-mRNA splicing[2][3]. As a pseudogene, RNU2-63P is a non-functional genomic segment similar to the gene encoding U2 snRNA but does not produce functional RNA or protein and is not actively involved in recognized cellular processes[1][2][5].
