RNA, U2 small nuclear 64, pseudogene (RNU2-64P)

Target
RNU2-64P
Molecular classification
Other, Pseudogene
01

Overview

RNU2-64P is a member of the U2 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) pseudogene family in humans[1][3]. While canonical U2 snRNAs are essential components of the spliceosome, playing a pivotal role in pre-mRNA splicing and containing numerous conserved modifications critical for function[2][4], pseudogenes such as RNU2-64P are considered non-functional genetic elements that resemble functional RNA genes but typically do not encode active products[3][1]. There is no evidence that RNU2-64P is transcribed or has biological activity, nor is it implicated as a receptor, enzyme, or therapeutic drug target.
