U6 snRNA itself is an essential component of the spliceosome complex, which catalyzes the excision of introns from eukaryotic pre-mRNA during splicing[3]. U6 snRNA is highly conserved and functionally vital, but pseudogenes like RNU6-1057P bear sequence resemblance to functional U6 but lack promoter elements and intronic sequences, rendering them incapable of RNA transcription or splicing activity[1][8]. These pseudogenes arise from retrotransposition and do not have any recognized biological, disease, or therapeutic roles.
