Overview

RNU6-1075P is a pseudogene of the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family. While the authentic U6 snRNA is a crucial component of the spliceosome complex, responsible for catalyzing the excision of introns from pre-mRNA during splicing in eukaryotes[1][5], the RNU6-1075P locus represents a non-functional copy (pseudogene) that does not produce a functional RNA or protein product. Pseudogenes like RNU6-1075P are common in vertebrate genomes and are generally considered non-coding genomic elements, typically the result of gene duplication or retrotransposition events followed by mutations that disrupt their function[6][8]. There is no evidence that RNU6-1075P serves as a therapeutic target, nor does it have known disease associations, interacting drugs, or biomarker roles.
