Overview

RNA, U6 small nuclear 1076, pseudogene (RNU6-1076P) is a non-coding RNA gene annotated as a pseudogene of the U6 small nuclear RNA family. U6 small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) are critical components of the spliceosome involved in pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotic cells[3][1]. However, as a pseudogene, RNU6-1076P is predicted to be non-functional, arising from duplication or retrotransposition events that led to loss of coding or regulatory capability[2][5][7]. Pseudogenes of U6 snRNA are common in the human genome, and nearly all are presumed to be unexpressed and lack biological activity or therapeutic targeting significance. There is no evidence that RNU6-1076P is transcribed or functional in splicing or any other cellular process[2][5][7]. RNU6-1076P is not a therapeutic target, does not encode a protein, and has no established role in health or disease[7]. No drugs, biomarkers, or safety concerns are associated with this pseudogene. The canonical form reflects gene nomenclature conventions for human snRNA pseudogenes, and there is no evidence of pathophysiological relevance or pharmacological modulation[2][7].
