RNA, U6 small nuclear 1088, pseudogene (RNU6-1088P) is a copy of the U6 snRNA gene family in the human genome that has lost its capacity to produce functional RNA, reflecting mutations or disruptions typical of pseudogenes[2][5][6][7]. The functional U6 snRNA is part of the spliceosome complex critical for mRNA splicing, but RNU6-1088P does not contribute to splicing nor possess any known physiological or pathological role. While some pseudogenes can affect gene regulation or serve as sources for regulatory RNAs[4][8], there is no evidence supporting significant expression or function for this particular pseudogene in health or disease.
