Overview

RNU6-1094P, also known as RNA, U6 small nuclear 1094, pseudogene, is a pseudogene related to the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family. U6 snRNA is a crucial component of the major spliceosome, participating in pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotes[1][3]. However, as a "pseudogene" of U6 snRNA, RNU6-1094P does not produce a functional RNA product and lacks protein-coding capacity. Pseudogenes were historically considered "junk DNA," but accumulating evidence indicates that some pseudogenes can be transcribed and may participate in gene regulation as competitive endogenous RNAs, or even give rise to regulatory small RNAs such as siRNAs[2]. There is currently no direct evidence that RNU6-1094P itself is functionally active or disease-associated. RNU6-1094P is not recognized as a therapeutic target, nor is it known to interact with drugs or serve as a biomarker.
