Overview
RNA, U6 small nuclear 1128, pseudogene (RNU6-1128P) is a genomic DNA sequence that is homologous to the functional U6 small nuclear RNA gene, but is classified as a processed pseudogene[6][5]. The U6 snRNA gene family encodes components of the spliceosome essential for mRNA splicing[1][3], but pseudogenes such as RNU6-1128P arise through duplication and retrotransposition events and do not produce a functional snRNA transcript[4][5]. These pseudogenes may serve as markers of genome evolution and retrotransposon dynamics[4], but they have no known direct biological, pharmacological, or disease-related activity[6][5][4].
