RNA, U6 small nuclear 1145, pseudogene (RNU6-1145P) is annotated as a pseudogene corresponding to the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family, and is one of many such pseudogenes found throughout the human genome[7]. U6 snRNA is a highly conserved non-coding RNA component of the spliceosome, critical for the splicing of pre-mRNA in eukaryotic nuclei[1][3]. However, RNU6-1145P, as a pseudogene, is characterized by sequence similarity to functional U6 snRNA genes but is presumed to be nonfunctional; it does not encode a functional snRNA and is not known to participate in spliceosomal activity or any other biological process[7]. Numerous U6 pseudogenes exist, likely reflecting retrotransposition and duplication events during genome evolution[5][6][3]. Such pseudogenes generally lack protein-coding potential and are not therapeutic targets; they are mainly of interest for evolutionary and genomic studies rather than clinical or pharmacological research[7][3].
