RNA, U6 small nuclear 1225, pseudogene (RNU6-1225P) is a non-coding RNA gene fragment located on the human X chromosome. It closely resembles the U6 small nuclear RNA gene but contains disabling sequence changes that prevent its functional expression as a snRNA. Designated as a pseudogene, it is considered a vestigial copy that arose via genomic duplication or retrotransposition and is not functionally active. Although some pseudogenes have been implicated in regulatory roles, such as acting as decoys for microRNAs or generating regulatory RNAs, there is no evidence that RNU6-1225P is functionally transcribed or plays a role in cellular or disease processes. Consequently, it is not considered a drug target, biomarker, or risk gene, and has no established biological or disease relevance.
