**RNA, U6 small nuclear 1247, pseudogene (RNU6-1247P)** is a processed pseudogene of the small nuclear RNA U6. This locus does not encode a protein or functional snRNA; rather, it is a genomic remnant generated by retrotransposition events, particularly mediated by LINE-1 (L1) elements[1][2][5][12]. U6 snRNA pseudogenes are widespread in the human genome and arise from the reverse transcription and reintegration of U6 snRNA molecules. While some pseudogenes belonging to other families can act as regulatory RNAs or molecular sponges, serving as decoys for miRNAs or as competing endogenous RNAs, there is no evidence for direct functional or pathogenic activity associated with RNU6-1247P specifically[4][5][7][9]. This locus is not a therapeutic target nor is it known to encode a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other classical druggable molecule.
