It is found on chromosome 11 (coordinates 85,220,982–85,221,088 on the forward strand)[1][3][5][7][9][10][11]. As a pseudogene, it is a disabled homolog of a functional U6 snRNA gene—U6 snRNAs are involved in the splicing of pre-messenger RNA in the spliceosome, but this pseudogene is no longer functional and does not encode an active RNA product[4]. There are no known biological functions, disease involvements, or drug interactions associated with RNU6-1292P, and it is not considered a therapeutic target.
