RNA, U6 small nuclear 1322, pseudogene (RNU6-1322P) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 7 (HGNC:48285). It is considered a noncoding RNA derived from sequences similar to U6 small nuclear RNA genes. Pseudogenes such as RNU6-1322P are typically nonfunctional and are not translated into protein. Unlike its parental genes, which contribute to the splicing machinery (U6 snRNA is a core part of the spliceosome), RNU6-1322P itself lacks coding capacity and is not known to be involved in cellular function or targeted by drugs. Although some pseudogenes can regulate gene expression through RNA-mediated mechanisms or have roles as competing endogenous RNAs in disease contexts, there are no such functions reported for RNU6-1322P specifically.
