Overview

RNU6-1328P is a pseudogene derived from the U6 small nuclear RNA gene family[1][4][5][7]. Pseudogenes are generally non-functional copies or fragments of genes that have accumulated disabling mutations and are not transcribed or translated into functional products[4]. RNU6-1328P in particular is categorized as a non-coding RNA pseudogene and is not known to produce a functional snRNA or protein. The U6 snRNA gene family is essential for the splicing of pre-mRNA in eukaryotes, but the pseudogene variants, such as RNU6-1328P, are considered *non-functional genomic elements*[1][4][5][6]. There is currently no evidence that RNU6-1328P acts as a therapeutic target, biomarker, disease gene, or pharmacological intervention site, nor is it associated with any known biological functions or disease mechanisms. Its presence in the genome reflects the widespread duplication and retrotransposition events affecting snRNA families[7].
