RNA, U6 small nuclear 139, pseudogene (RNU6-139P)

Target
RNU6-139P
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Non-coding RNA, Small nuclear RNA-derived pseudogene
01

Overview

RNU6-139P is a human gene classified as a pseudogene related to the U6 small nuclear RNA family. U6 snRNA is a highly conserved non-coding RNA, integral to the function of the spliceosome and essential for excising introns from precursor mRNA in eukaryotes[3]. The U6 family is important for cell viability, and pseudogenes such as RNU6-139P represent genomic sequences that have lost their coding potential due to mutations and do not produce functional RNA or protein. Pseudogene-derived loci are common in the genome and are not considered canonical drug targets, nor do they have established roles in disease, drug interaction, or utility as biomarkers in current literature[5][3][4].
