RNA, U6 small nuclear 193, pseudogene (RNU6-193P) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene derived from the highly conserved U6 small nuclear RNA gene family. The functional U6 snRNA plays a critical role in the spliceosome, catalyzing pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotes; however, pseudogenes like RNU6-193P do not produce functional RNA and are not directly involved in cellular processes or disease. Their presence in the genome reflects evolutionary history and gene duplication events but confers no active regulatory or catalytic function.
