RNU6-232P is a human processed pseudogene derived from the U6 small nuclear RNA locus. U6 snRNA is an integral component of the spliceosome, involved in pre-mRNA splicing[1][3][6]. However, RNU6-232P itself is a nonfunctional genomic copy formed by retrotransposition of the active gene[5][7]. Unlike functional U6 snRNA, RNU6-232P does not contribute directly to cellular processes. Some pseudogenes can regulate gene expression by acting as regulatory RNA molecules or miRNA sponges, but no such function has been reported for RNU6-232P specifically[4][5]. There is also no evidence linking this pseudogene to human disease, biomarker status, or drug interactions. RNU6-232P is *not* a therapeutic target, but a nonfunctional genomic remnant (pseudogene) of U6 snRNA, with no proven biological or disease relevance to date[4][5][2][7].
