Overview

RNA, U6 small nuclear 254, pseudogene (RNU6-254P) is a *processed pseudogene* of the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family[4]. U6 snRNA itself is an essential non-coding RNA component of the spliceosome, playing a central role in nuclear mRNA splicing[1][5]. However, RNU6-254P, being a pseudogene, is considered a genetically inactive remnant and is not thought to produce a functional RNA or protein product[4]. As a pseudogene, it does not encode a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other canonical drug target, nor is it implicated as a therapeutic target or biomarker in current biomedical literature. Pseudogenes like RNU6-254P are sometimes of interest for studies of genome evolution or, in rare cases, regulatory RNA functions[2], but specific functions or disease associations for RNU6-254P have not been reported in available sources.
