01

Overview

RNU6-255P is a non-coding RNA pseudogene found in the human genome. It is a member of a large family of U6 snRNA pseudogenes, which are non-functional copies related to the highly conserved U6 small nuclear RNA gene. U6 snRNA itself is a critical component of the spliceosome, the molecular complex responsible for excising introns from pre-mRNA during gene expression in eukaryotic cells[4][1]. However, the RNU6-255P pseudogene does not produce a functional snRNA and is not known to be involved in any biological processes, disease roles, or as a therapeutic target[5][2].
