Overview

**RNA, U6 small nuclear 264, pseudogene (RNU6-264P)** is a human genomic sequence classified as a pseudogene of the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family[2][5]. U6 snRNAs are essential non-coding RNAs involved in pre-mRNA splicing as components of the spliceosome complex[3]. However, like other U6 pseudogenes, RNU6-264P does not have known expression, protein product, or biological function[2][4][5]. Pseudogenes such as RNU6-264P typically arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and accumulate mutations that prevent them from producing functional RNA or protein[5]. Therefore, RNU6-264P is not regarded as a therapeutic target, is not involved in any identifiable cellular pathways or diseases, has no known drug interactions, and carries no clinical or safety significance.
