Target intelligence / Profile preview

RNA, U6 small nuclear 335, pseudogene (RNU6-335P)

Target
RNU6-335P
Molecular classification
Other (noncoding RNA pseudogene, more specifically a small nuclear RNA pseudogene)
01

Overview

RNU6-335P is a pseudogene corresponding to the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family. U6 snRNA is involved in the essential process of nuclear pre-mRNA splicing, serving as a key component of the spliceosome complex. However, as a pseudogene, RNU6-335P does not encode a functional RNA molecule and is presumed to be transcriptionally inactive or nonfunctional. Pseudogenes are often produced by duplication or retrotransposition events, and while some may play roles in gene regulation or have residual transcriptional activity, there is no evidence that RNU6-335P is involved in any biological process, therapeutic targeting, or disease mechanism. Its existence reflects genome evolution rather than active cellular function.

02

Mechanism of action

None (no mechanisms because there are no drugs targeting this pseudogene)

03

Biological functions

None (as a pseudogene, it is generally nonfunctional)For functional U6 snRNA, the role is in nuclear mRNA splicing, but the pseudogene itself does not participate in this process.
04

Disease associations

Other (no established disease roles or associations for this specific pseudogene)Some pseudogenes may occasionally be relevant as biomarkers in cancer or other diseases, but there is no evidence for RNU6-335P.
05

Safety considerations

None (no safety concerns or therapeutic challenges relevant)
06

Interacting drugs

None (there are no drugs known to interact with this pseudogene)
07

Biomarkers

None (not established as a biomarker for disease or therapeutic efficacy)
