Overview

RNA, U6 small nuclear 392, pseudogene (RNU6-392P) is a non-coding, processed pseudogene derived from the highly conserved small nuclear RNA U6 gene. U6 snRNA itself is an essential, non-coding RNA that forms part of the spliceosome complex and directly catalyzes the excision of introns from pre-mRNA in eukaryotes[2]. Unlike the functional U6 snRNA, pseudogenes like RNU6-392P do not encode active RNA molecules; they arise through retrotransposition events involving Long Interspersed Nuclear Elements (LINEs) or other mobile elements and serve as genomic records of such activity[4]. RNU6-392P has no known physiological role, disease relevance, or druggability. It should not be considered a therapeutic target, and references to this entry as a target may be inaccurate or misleading.
