RNA, U6 small nuclear 407, pseudogene (RNU6-407P) is classified as a non-coding RNA pseudogene in the human genome[4][5]. It is related to the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family, which plays an essential role in the spliceosome machinery for pre-mRNA splicing[1][3], but as a pseudogene, RNU6-407P is presumed to be non-functional and does not produce a functional RNA or protein. Like most pseudogenes, it may be transcribed and can potentially regulate gene expression at the RNA level, for example, by acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) or by influencing RNA-protein interactions[2]. However, there is no reported evidence that RNU6-407P has a known role in human disease, drug action, or clinical biomarker use. Pseudogenes in general are increasingly recognized for possible regulatory functions, but RNU6-407P itself is not considered a therapeutic target and is not a receptor, enzyme, or conventional drug target molecule[2][4][5].
