RNU6-43P is a **pseudogene** of the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but generally non-functional; they do not encode functional proteins or RNAs. U6 snRNA itself is a small non-coding RNA fundamentally involved in the splicing of pre-mRNA as a core component of the spliceosome[1][2][3][5]. However, RNU6-43P does not produce a functional RNA product and is a non-functional relic of this gene family. \nThere is no evidence that RNU6-43P encodes a therapeutic target, is involved directly in disease, or is actionable using drugs[2]. Like other U6 pseudogenes, it arises via retrotransposition mechanisms but does not contribute to normal splicing processes or known pathology[1][5].
