Overview

RNU6-432P (RNA, U6 small nuclear 432, pseudogene) is classified as a non-coding RNA pseudogene. Pseudogenes like RNU6-432P are genomic DNA sequences similar to known genes but typically lack the regulatory elements and open reading frames required for protein-coding function, rendering them generally non-functional for protein expression. RNU6-432P is part of a larger family of small nuclear RNA pseudogenes derived from the U6 gene, which is involved in splicing as part of the spliceosomal small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs) in its functional versions. However, as a pseudogene, RNU6-432P is not known to encode any functional RNA or protein product. While some pseudogenes can exert regulatory effects on their parent genes or participate in competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks, or act as miRNA sponges, the functional and disease relevance of RNU6-432P has not been established in the scientific literature. There are no known drugs targeting this locus, and it is not considered a therapeutic target or biomarker.
