However, RNU6-446P does **not** produce functional U6 snRNA and does not participate in spliceosomal activity, as it is a **pseudogene**—a non-functional genomic copy of a gene that may arise through gene duplication or retrotransposition. Pseudogenes are common for U6 snRNA due to its evolutionary importance and high gene copy number, but they lack regulatory elements or have mutations that prevent normal transcription or function[2][5]. There is no current evidence linking RNU6-446P to disease, therapeutic targeting, drug interactions, or known safety concerns.
