RNA, U6 small nuclear 469, pseudogene (RNU6-469P) is classified as a small nuclear RNA (snRNA) pseudogene belonging to the U6 family, located at chromosome 4q21.23[2]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences that resemble functional genes but have lost their original protein-coding or functional RNA capacity due to mutations, deletions, or insertions[4]. RNU6-469P is specifically a pseudogene derived from the U6 snRNA, which is a highly conserved noncoding RNA essential for pre-mRNA splicing as part of the spliceosome complex in eukaryotes[1][3]. However, some pseudogenes in the genome may have regulatory roles, such as competing for microRNAs or producing noncoding RNAs, though there is no evidence that RNU6-469P has any such function[4]. In summary, RNU6-469P is a genomic artifact derived from a functionally important snRNA gene, but it does not encode a functional RNA molecule, is not considered a therapeutic target, and has no established biological function or disease association[2][4].
