Overview

RNU6-479P is a pseudogene derived from the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family, located on human chromosome 4 [2][4]. It is a non-coding, non-functional RNA sequence that resembles the highly conserved U6 snRNA, which is a core component of the spliceosome involved in the splicing of pre-mRNA [3]. However, RNU6-479P does not encode a functional snRNA and is not known to be expressed or to play any biological or therapeutic role. It is one of many U6-related pseudogenes in the human genome, thought to be generated via retrotransposition events involving LINE elements, serving as a marker for retrotransposition activity rather than a biologically active molecule [5]. There is no evidence for its utility as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or involvement in disease, nor for any interacting drugs or associated safety concerns.
