RNA, U6 small nuclear 533, pseudogene (RNU6-533P) is a human pseudogene of the U6 spliceosomal RNA family. The canonical U6 snRNA is a highly conserved component of the spliceosome, essential for pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotic cells[1][3]. This pseudogene, however, does not produce a functional U6 snRNA and is not believed to participate in splicing. As a pseudogene, RNU6-533P is considered a non-coding genetic element, often transcriptionally inactive, and is not a therapeutic target or established molecular marker. Some pseudogenes are reported to have roles in gene regulation by acting as decoys for miRNAs or by generating regulatory RNAs affecting their parental gene, but there is no evidence that RNU6-533P is functionally active in these contexts for human disease[2]. The classification, features, and functional implications of pseudogenes may still be a subject of research, but RNU6-533P specifically has no reported direct biological activity or therapeutic relevance.
