U6 snRNA itself is a highly conserved, functional, non-coding RNA involved in pre-mRNA splicing as part of the spliceosome, but pseudogenes like RNU6-564P are non-functional, often non-expressed genomic sequences that arise from retrotransposition or duplication events[1][7]. RNU6-564P does not produce a functional RNA product and is not associated with known molecular function, drug targeting, or disease relevance, nor is it a therapeutic target. There are many such U6 pseudogenes in the human genome, but they do not encode proteins or active RNA, and are not relevant to disease or therapy[1][7]. Note: The presence of “pseudogene” means this is not a functional gene or a valid drug target.
