RNU6-59P is a human pseudogene of the U6 small nuclear RNA family, annotated as RNA, U6 small nuclear 59, pseudogene. U6 snRNA genes play a central role in the spliceosome, the large ribonucleoprotein complex responsible for pre-mRNA splicing. However, pseudogenes like RNU6-59P represent non-functional genetic elements originating from gene duplication or retrotransposition events. These pseudogenes usually lack the ability to encode active RNA molecules, as they are generally not transcribed or do not produce functional products. RNU6-59P is not involved in signal transduction, receptor activity, enzymatic activity, or any canonical therapeutic mechanism and is not a known drug target[2][8].
